Henry Sidney Eighmey was a retired professor, living in Ithaca. He taught hotel restaurant management at Paul Smith's College from the late 1960s to early 1980s. Saranac Lake residents remember that Professor Eighmey managed the Hotel Saranac during his time at Paul Smith's, and that one of his daughters, perhaps as an art student, restored the detailed painting on the beams in the hotel's great hall. His obituary appeared in the Adirondack Daily Enterprise on August 4, 2015.
