Elbert G. Bellows was a World War II veteran.  He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Elbert E. Bellows of 30 1/2 Franklin Avenue and  31 Helen Street. In 1929, he won first prize for his essays on the life of Robert Louis Stevenson presented by the Stevenson Society of America.
