Bold Street Bill

Known to everyone as Bold Street Bill, this man has seen it all. Year upon year, season upon season, Bill has kept our spirits up with his accordion and trumpet. Originally he was an industrial Chemist, working in Speke, (near to the airport). His company was taken over first by Unilever, and after 13 years was sold on to a firm in the Midlands, which was a workers co-operative. It was at this time that Bill, along with many of his friends, were laid off by the company.

Bill has been quoted saying, "I've had my photograph more times than I care to remember". People are keen to capture the fact that, HE embodies the spirit of our Bold Street, its 'do it no matter what it takes' attitude. Bill is a credit to our city.
