Oakland Halal Meat & Produce is a butcher shop that sells chopped hunks of lamb and beef, as well as a random and ever changing assortment of vegetables and frozen stuff.
The proprietor is a super nice guy who I guess is East African, who has the most amazing fro. He occasionally gets sizeable quantities of expired stuff from Trader Joe's—don't ask me how—and puts it on a table outside the shop with a cardboard sign that says "free."
He gives me free bones for my dog and won't take payment for them.
