Mose Thompson was charged with murder in the first degree for the killing of Bob Weir near Black Rock in 1922. It was alleged that as Thompson passed Weir on the road, Thompson fired on Weir with a shotgun. The motive for the shooting was Weir's attention to Thompson's wife.
