    • Le Frontier Sentinel est publié à partir de 1859 par Elias Lee et concurrence le Stanstead Journal jusqu’en 1862. “To say that Elias Lee and Leroy Robinson were competitors would be putting it mildly. By the tone of some of their editorials, it would seem that they hated each other”. La compétition n’est pas seulement palpable dans les éditoriaux. À titre d’exemple, Robinson réagit au grand format du Frontier Sentinel au augmentant les dimensions de son propre journal. Au bout de trois ans, le Stanstead Journal gagne la bataille des journaux (d’ailleurs, ce dernier achète l’équipement d’impression de son compétiteur).
