The Clock Tower was built for Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee celebrations in 1887. The tower was designed by Mr Goodacre of Leicester and built by Parnell and Son. The cost of £530 was raised by the people of Rugby.

The Clock Tower stands 43 feet 6 inches (13.25 metres) high. There are four clock faces, one on each side of the tower, originally made by Evans and Sons of Birmingham.
