Willie Lewis Brown Jr. (born March 20, 1934 in Mineola, Texas) is an American politician. From 1996 to 2004, he served as the 41st Mayor of San Francisco, California, the first African American to hold that office. He also served as the 58th Speaker of the California State Assembly, from 1980 to 1995.

From 1994 to 1995, Brown dated Kamala Harris, who worked as an Alameda County Deputy District Attorney at the time and was 30 years his junior.
