Claremont Avenue (Norfolk) - Named for Claremont Plantation or Claremont Manor, a colonial home of Allen family in Surry County, Virginia.2

Colley Avenue (Norfolk) - Named for the Colley family that owned the land where the avenue is located.  Mr. J. P. Andre Mottu, Adolph Boissevaine’s Norfolk agent, bought the Colley farm to redevelop it into a neighborhood.2
