The Independent Merchants of Downtown Skokie are a 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization dedicated to the revitalization of Downtown Skokie.

IMODS is a growing group comprised of merchants, property owners, residents and interested citizens who recognize the need to be involved to help shape the future of Downtown Skokie. IMODS is open to all.

IMODS has been recognized by the Skokie Village Board and funded through the downtown tax increment financing district to work with Planning, Zoning, Economic Development and the Village Manager’s office on matters pertaining to Downtown Skokie. We have a vision for our downtown and we can see it taking shape. You’ve seen neighboring suburbs successfully redevelop their aging downtown districts and now it’s Skokie’s opportunity to do the same.
