The Feldenkrais method is an alternative medicine therapy
The method consists "of a series of classes that allows the body to move and function more efficiently and comfortably. The goal of the classes is to re-educate the body to improve motor ability, relieve pressure on joints, and allow the body to heal repetitive strain injuries. Use of the method can relieve pain and lead to higher standards of achievement in sports, musical performance, martial arts, dancing, running, walking, and other physical activities.
Feldenkrais is used by musicians/performers, athletes, children, the elderly, martial artists, handicapped people, people with special needs, those suffering from degenerative diseases, and people with chronic pain.
By supporting the body's natural structure, Feldenkrais is effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction, including:
Repetitive Stress Disorder
Chronic Neck and Back Pain
Orthopedic Problems
Motor-Coordination Impairments
Traumatic Brain and Spinal Cord Injuries
Scoliosis
Stress and Tension-Related Problems
