The Union 242 Carlton Ave (west of Parliament) Toronto, ON www.theunionyogacenter.ca [email protected]

The Union is a creative collective space where yoga, Nia and pilates are taught. In addition, the Union is community space that hosts various events related to fundraising and social justice issues. Opened in January 2007, the vision for the Union is that it will become a social hub that is accessible to diverse communities. It is a place where playful evolution, empowerment and empathy can integrate with daily living through physical and spiritual consciousness. It is a venue for stimulating growth and learning by incubating interaction and connecting networks of people who are already neighbours. Other features of the mission include inspiring our fellows and selves to imagine the possibilities, and to act as an agent-of-change.

Current programming is carried out by a strong team of yoga, nia (taught by Jennifer Hicks), and pilates instructors and a growing network with members of other important social innovation and cultural organizations. Sessions are priced on a scale of PAY-WHAT-YOU-CAN, $6, $10 and $14. By attending the higher priced classes Union clients help make it possible for the lower priced classes to exist on the schedule. There is something for everyone at the Union!
