Summit Hut is a locally owned and operated retailer specializing in hiking, camping and backpacking gear. It was founded in 1967 by two 15-year-olds named Dave Baker and Jeff Conn. Then, Baker bought Conn’s share of the shop and opened the first location in a 150-square-foot space across the street. After that, Dave sold ownership in 2011 to long-time employee, Dana Davis and her husband Jeremy.
