Eric and Cathrine (Cat) Poland are the owners of Tattoo Mysterium, opened in August of 2012. Eric and Cat originally opened Tulsa's first legal tattoo shop, Electric Eye Tattoo in 29 Palms, Ca in 2001, and moved back to Tulsa one year later, to their first location on 11th street, next to Burnett's flowers, in between Yale and Harvard. Later they opened locations on 11th street, between Utica and Lewis, and then the final location on Yale at Admiral. When tattooing became legal in November of 2006, Eric and Cat were the third shop in the state and the first in Tulsa to turn in the paperwork and become licensed. In 2010, Eric and Cat Poland sold Electric Eye Tattoo to Michael Meek, and moved to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania for six months. After things didn't work out in Pennsylvania, Eric and Cat moved home to Tulsa and worked for Michael Meek for 7 months at Electric Eye before renting a space at 3016 East 15th street and opened Tattoo Mysterium. Eric began tattooing in 1993 and was licensed in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Georgia, Wyoming, Kansas, and California before settling in Tulsa and marrying his wife, Cat in 2001.
