Fourth Annual Dinner of Reconciliation

Thursday, November 21, 2013

Greenwood Cultural Center

You are invited to attend the John Hope Franklin Center for Reconciliation’s communitywide dinner that honors the life and legacy of the great historian, professor, and native Tulsan Dr. John Hope Franklin.  The fourth Dinner of Reconciliation will be held Thursday, November 21, 2013, at the Greenwood Cultural Center, 322 North Greenwood Avenue, with a gathering at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 7:00 p.m.

The Dinner of Reconciliation provides an intimate opportunity for members of the Tulsa community to come together, break bread, enjoy each other’s company, and share a vision of reconciliation in Tulsa and our nation.

The keynote speaker will be Tulsa’s own Clifton Taulbert, an internationally recognized author and consultant whose work focuses on community healing.  His address, “Education: The Bridge from Yesterday to Tomorrow,” will examine how a community can heal a painful past through education and open dialogue. The key is getting to know one another.

As a world-renowned writer, lecturer, and historian, Dr. Franklin worked to overcome cultural barriers through dialogue and education. The Center continues to honor Dr. Franklin’s important vision by promoting reconciliation and generating trust at events such as the Dinner.

Tickets for the Dinner of Reconciliation cost $20 for adults and $10 for students.
