FARIS, HARRY

Harry served in both world wars. His service in WWI is described in an earlier Chapter.

Henry George Faris was born September 21, 1891 in Leitrum County, Ireland, the son of William Alfred Faris and Eliza Jane Stuart.

He immigrated to Canada, arriving in Quebec May 27, 1913.

He enlisted June 29, 1915 in Edmonton. He identified that he was a cement worker and that his next of kin, his mother, was still in Ireland.

Harry served in the Veterans Guard in WWII.

In 1919, Henry married Margaret Sullivan in Edmonton.  In 1919 he lived in Holden, Alberta. The couple’s eldest daughter was born in Alberta. Their other five children were all born in Sundridge.

Henry died February 5, 1985 and is buried in Sundridge.
