FENTON, GORDON Regimental # B40165

Gordon Fenton was born October 24, 1915, the son of John and Mabel (Hannah) Fenton. Gordon Fenton was one of the many children and young people who stayed with his grandparents, Joseph and Mary Hannah of Dunchurch over the years. Gordon married Phyliss Fenton. Gordon enlisted in March of 1942. In late 1944 he was transferred to the Royal Canadian Highland Regiment of Canada (The Black Watch) in Holland. On November 23, 1944 during the Scheldt Estuary campaign, he suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen and died three weeks later on December 13, 1944 at the age of 29.
