GOULD, PTE LEO
Leo Gould was identified as being from Hagerman Township by the Women’s Institute in the book series “Down Memory Lane With Hagerman People”. Other than the picture of Leo no other information is available at time of writing.
A search of Canadian Military persons in WWI with the name Gould and the letters ‘Leo’ in their name got no results that would tie a person to the Parry Sound. A review of the 1911 and 1921 censuses did show a Gould family living in McKellar, but no one with an initial ‘L’ or the name Leo, or a variation thereof could be found.

Of further note, a Leo Gould is not on the list of members of the 162nd who enlisted in this area. There was, however, and Oscar Willis Gould, Regimental # 757192, who enlisted in Parry Sound. Oscar was a blacksmith. After the war he was identified as living in Christie Twp. – but with no tie to the Dunchurch area. Oscar had two brothers Robert James and Harold Armstrong who enlisted in other areas. Neither have a connection to this area.
