As the above excerpt from Ancestry demonstrates, Wellington Jenkins was commonly known as ‘Pete’.

He was born in July of 1921 in Magnetawan, the son of Eldon Wellinngton ‘Klondike Ike’ Jenkins and Catherinne Maud Wilder.

Pete (Welligton) Jenkins wrote several letters to Godfey Grunigs students. His first letter was written ‘somewhere in Holland’ on December 17, 1944.

Pete’s next letter was written on December 23, 1944. In it, Pete identified that he was in hospital and expected to be there for a number of weeks.

The reason for Pete’s hospitalization was a recurring bout of myalgia.

Pete’s next letter was wrtiitne March 18, 1945, from England.

He notes that he had just returned from a welcolme two week sick leave – but remained in hospital.

He hoped to be discharged shortly.
 
Pete spoke of seeing Gordon Hollard who was in hospital where he was as well.
