Angus was born in Spence Twp. Sept 13, 1897 to James Thomson Keppy and Alice Jane Jeffrey,
The family continued to live in Spence Twp. at the time of the 1901 census, but by 1911 the family appears to have moved to Stephenson Twp., Muskoka.
At the time of the signing of his Attestation papers in Hunstville on March 22, 1916, Angus identified he was living in Hunstville. He listed his next of kind as his sister Jenny living in Port Sydney. He listed his occupation as a labourer.
In his Discharge Certificate, Angus was identified as englisting March 2, 1916 in the 122nd Battalion.
He was identified as serving in England and France.
He was discharged March 10, 1919 as part of the general demobilization.
Angus arrived in England on June 10, 1917 on the S.S. Justicia.
In July he was transferred to France where he served with the 52nd Coy CFC.
He served with the 52nd until war's end.
