PORTER, PTE COLBORNE  - Regimental # 3231425

Colborne Porter was born December 23, 1886 in McKenzie Twp., son of Joseph and Sarah (Gordon) Porter of Maple Island.

Colborne enlisted January 22, 1918 in the 2nd Depot Battalion, 2nd Central Ontario Regiment. He arrived in England on September 16, 1918 on the SS Saturnia and was posted to the 8th Reserve Battalion at Whitley. [1]

In October 1918 he was hospitalized with influenza at Bramshott, Hampshire, England – and died on October 20, 1918 of cardiac arrest following days of severe distress - delirium, high fever, cough, difficulty breathing  and high pulse.
