Orville is the son of Howard and Edna Ross of Magnetawan.
Orville joined the R.C.A.F. in September 1956. He spent from September 1956 to 1958 in Training Command. From 19558 to 1961 he served with N.A.T.O. in England and France. From 1965 to 1972 he served in Training Command and from 1972 to 1984 in Air Defence Command.
He retired as a Warrant Officer.
