Upper East Zayante Road runs from the Summit Road in the north down to Eagle Tree Lane; hereafter, the road is East Zayante Road.

To 911, be sure to say Upper East Zayante -- otherwise, drivers get sent about 4 miles down from where Summit and Upper East Zayante meet. Note that the street sign at Summit Road says Upper Zayante Rd.

The pull-over location between Silvertip Vineyards and the Narrows is Logger's Landing where Zayante Creek crosses the road. The creek follows Upper Zayante Road and later, East Zayante Road, down to Felton where the creek connects with San Lorenzo River.

The one-lane stretch between Logger's Landing and the Upper Ellen Road gate is locally known as "the Narrows" running between a carved shale mountain side and a deep redwood gulch.
