The Flour Bin Bakery

The Flour Bin is a bakery café located in Gibsonville, North Carolina. The family owned business opened its doors in February of 2011 and has continued to satisfy Gibsonville’s sweet tooth ever since.

The small business is owned and operated by the Jarrett family. After generations of family recipes being created and passed down, Debbie Jarrett and her daughter dreamt of one day sharing their family’s recipes with the public by opening a bakery. The dream became a reality in 2011 when The Flour Bin was first opened for business.

The family business serves the Alamance County area as well as the surrounding regions that come to taste the fresh baked, homemade treats that have Alamance County craving more. Customers can order their cakes to be specially made or choose from the wide selection in stock.

Despite opening less than two years ago, The Flour Bin in has become known for its nostalgic charm and delicious family recipes.  The storefront features a quaint display of country style seating, inviting customers to come in and relax over their delicious treats. The interior of the store features brightly colored walls and display cases filled with deserts fresh out of the oven (unless of course you are looking at the delicious “No-Bake” Chocolate Oatmeal Cookie.) Debbie Jarrett, owner and baker, can be found making her next desert while one of her children assist customers in purchasing their deserts. The family atmosphere goes farther than just the staff; The Flour Bin makes a constant effort to make all of their visitors feel like they’re part of the family with their homemade recipes, kitchen-table type seating and friendly customer service.

The bakery offers a wide variety of cookies and cakes as well as an assortment of breads, truffles, pies and cupcakes. Certain items such as All of their threats are made “the old fashioned way” with “no shortcuts”, according to Mrs. Jarrett herself. Their two most popular cake flavors are strawberry and orange crush (made with none other than orange crush soda!) Some of their other flavors include Pineapple, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Chocolate on Chocolate, Red Velvet, Coconut, Mocha Latter and Carrot. Some options for homemade pies are Chocolate, Key Lime, Lemon Meringue and Pecan. While their recipes are known for being rich in flavor, they are even richer in tradition, as they have all been passed down through generations of the Jarrett family.

While you may be in search of this rich flavor and tradition, you certainly do not have to be rich to afford it. Cookies range between $1-2 and are about the size of a palm, a slice of cake will run you anywhere between $3-$4 and a full, personally made cake is in the range of $20-$40.
The Flour Bin can be found in the heart of Gibsonville at 120 West Main Street. Store Hours are Tuesday through Thursday form 8:00am to 6:00pm, Friday’s from 8:00am to 9:00pm and on Saturdays from 8:00am until 2:00pm.

Several reviews have stated that "the owners are extremely nice and welcoming, and you won't find a better selection of desserts".
