Stanley Hall is a tall building on the northeast side of the UC Berkeley campus (uphill). It has a great view of campus from the higher floors. On the ground floor, it houses a Yali's coffee shop.

History

Named after Nobel laureate and Berkeley professor Wendell M. Stanley, Old Stanley Hall was originally erected to house UC Berkeley's Biochemistry and Virology Laboratory. Old Stanley was demolished in 2005 for the construction of New Stanley.

Community

Stanley Hall, or Stanley Biosciences and Bioengineering Facility, houses labs from the Molecular and Cell Biology (MCB), Chemistry, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, and Physics departments as well as the California Institute for Quantitative Biomedical Research (QB3). Many of UC Berkeley's structural biochemists and biophysicists reside in Stanley Hall.
