Seventh-Day Adventist is a religion that most people do not know about. Here is some facts and history about Seventh-Day Adventist. Seventh-day Adventists accept the Bible as the only source of our beliefs. We consider our movement to be the result of the Protestant conviction Sola Scriptura—the Bible as the only standard of faith and practice for Christians. They believe that God loves, God creates, God redeems, God inhabits, God transforms, God triumphs. Not only do they believe in God, but they believe in the father, son, and the Holy Spirit. This is also called the Trinity, meaning three-in-one. The father is God who sent his son to die for all mankind. God has been around forever and ever. He sent his son to show us what he is like. Son, who is Jesus, was sent by God in order to show God’s character, but to also save us from our sins and to come back and take us to heaven. The Holy Spirit is what guides and directs our thoughts. It can change our hearts and our lives. They believe that death happens differently. The belief is that once you pass away you are asleep. Meaning, you are not aware of your surrounding nor are you in heaven. You are simply taking a long nap in waiting for Jesus to return to those back. The dead will rise first and the living will be caught up with them in the sky. When Jesus will return is unknown and will be unknown until the day he comes back. We are told he will come like a thief in the night. Meaning, there is no way of knowing when. They believe in baptism, which is the act of being dunked under water and represents being dead in sin and coming up out of the water in brand new life with Christ. It is to “die” of our old self, and be new in the eyes of God. The biggest belief of them all that they are known for is the Sabbath. The Sabbath is seventh day of the week God rested on when creating the world. They believe that this is the day of rest and that God blessed and sanctified this day according to his example and his commandments. They also believe that you are not saved by good works, but by repenting yours sins and  accepting God as your personal savior.
