Services:

Mental Health-

If you feel like your life is out of control or the problems in your life are piling up and they are affecting your work, the Chestnut staff is ready to listen and help you work on fixing those problems.

For children and youth ages 0 to 21, Chestnut can provide comprehensive treatment.  Families who have limited resources can be eligible for state grants, which can be very helpful.  Their staff is experienced in helping both families and children cope with issues like depression, ADHD, behavioral problems, family conflict, and serious trauma.

For those who experience an emotional or psychiatric crisis, Chestnut also provides a crisis phone and outreach service.  They have an Emergency Telephone Line, immediate access to support; Walk in Crisis Services, where during the regular business hours you can walk in and meet with a staff member for support; and a Mobile Outreach Team, outreach services provided in the community.

Addiction Treatment-

Whether you are looking for treatment for yourself, or you are looking to talk about the problems with alcohol or drugs of your loved ones, Chestnut understands how difficult it might be for you and their staff is dedicated to helping you or your loved ones through every stage of the treatment.

There is a wide variety of addiction treatment for both adults and adolescents.  The entire staff works together to come up with a unique treatment plan for each person.  Their treatments for addiction are designed to help with both addiction issues and mental health illnesses at the same time.

Prevention-

There are many programs that are available for prevention.  There are places in the community that will hold programs for prevention topics such as: the effects of alcohol tobacco, and other drugs on health, behavior and society; signs and symptoms of substance abuse; drinking, drugging, and driving; prevention strategies; and many other topics.

They offer a Life Skills Education program where adolescents go for eight sessions to talk about topics such as decision making, stress management, peer pressure, communication, and conflict resolution.

Credit Counseling-

If you worry about unpaid bills at night or if you are nearing your credit limits, then you might be having some financial troubles.  If you are, you aren't alone.  Thousands of people face financial problems like this every year.  You can set up an appointment with Chestnut so you can get help in managing these problems.  There is also bankruptcy counseling.  Chestnut will offer counseling for this by phone, in person, or even by internet.

The Chestnut Credit Counseling Services (CCCS) is a non-profit and debt management program and they are affiliated with the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC).  CCCS will contact each of the person’s creditors and will ask for things like a waiver of late fees and over the limit fees.  The Chestnut Credit Counseling Services’ focus is on helping clients regain financial control by creating a budget plan and reorganizing their debts.

Housing-

For those with serious mental illness, Chestnut Health Systems provides several types of housing.  Their onsite services include medication management, skills training, individual and group counseling, substance abuse treatment, case management, social and recreational programming, and community support.

Other-

-In 2014, Chestnut Health Systems received a total of $500,000 in federal funding to expand its mental health services at the clinic.  Chief operations officer, Alan Sender, said that the money will allow the clinic to add several more positions such as a senior behavioral health clinician, a quality improvement manager, and two care coordinators.
