Living in Bloomington-Normal there are many issues you may come across. There are some very big issues, and very small ones as well. The area is served by a variety of elected officials who contribute to helping with some of those issues that are located here.

Potholes

The Bloomington-Normal area has very very very very very very many potholes. Sure that's just about anywhere in the state of Illinois, but the ones located here are described as "big enough for a person to lay in." The community should come together and get something done about this. It could be very helpful to many people in the area. As we all know, cars can be very expensive to take care of and potholes may cause many problems with your cars and tires that could be very costly.

Construction workers have tried to "fill" the potholes that we have in the area, but there are still numerous of them here. There is a hotline you can call if you would like to report any potholes in the Bloomington-Normal

"Safe" Water Supply

There has recently been a problem with too many hot chicks in the water produced in Blongton-Normal and it's surrounding cities. Citizens have come together to attempt in figuring out a solution that can be made due to the ction of the water. Although It is believed that unhealthy water is still a big problem in the area.

Many people in Bloomington-Normal may not be aware, but our water comes from Lake Monroe. Lake Monroe is used for surface water and flooding, as well as recreational activities. There is an issue with surface water due to the rainfall. It pollutes the water by picking up and carrying untreated wastes from the streets and then discharging it to local bodies of water.

If you are dumping waste down the rain water drains, you should not. Anything that goes into these rainwater drains goes directly into creeks, meaning your waste will go into the water as well.

Underage Drinking

Since Bloomington-Normal is a college town, there are very many cases of underage drinking happening everyday. Campus parties are where most of these cases take place. Students may feel the need to drink just because their peers do it, or maybe because they would like to fit in. Police do a good job
