ABOUT MARY KAY COSMETICS

The company was founded in 1963 by Mary Kay Ash in Addison, TX, just outside of Dallas. Mary Kay Ash originally wanted to write a book to help women in the business field, but ended up starting her own business selling cosmetics, with its original store front in Dallas, TX. She did, however, later write three books, one autobiography and two to motivate women. Not only has she succeeded in her business and written three books, but she has also won numerous awards, including "Most Outstanding Woman in Business in the 20th Century" and the "Equal Justice Award." In 2003, Ash died from natural causes at 83 years old, passing the business down to her son Richard Rogers.

One goal of the Mary Kay business is to help women to feel beautiful and confident in their own skin, and raise awareness about domestic abuse as well as illnesses that affect women.

The Mary Kay Mansion was just put up for sale a third time, with a listing price of $2.8 million. The 12,000 square foot mansion, painted pastel pink, of course, has six bedrooms, six full bathrooms, two half bathrooms, three living rooms, an outdoor pool, and several gardens. Ash herself has not lived in the mansion since the 90s, but she has left so many of her signature touches around the house, including her favorite shade of red throughout the many rooms and the pastel pink bar outside.

The Mary Kay Mansion is very elaborate in both the interior and exterior.
