The Paint Depot is a locally owned independent paint store that has been serving the Bloomington/Normal community since 1995. They are able to cater to any of your painting needs. With 100 years of combined experience in the industry, the paint depot has the most knowledgeable staff in the area. The store carries many different products that you can't find everywhere. If you're having trouble finding the right paint color with the correct sheen, stop by The Paint Depot and receive the most experienced, and one on one help you can get. The store also does custom color matches so if you have a color picked out and would like the store to match them, the color experts at The Paint Depot can do that.

Paints
PPG Pittsburgh Paints: PPG is a great paint that cannot be found just anywhere in town. The Paint Depot carries exclusive PPG colors that nobody else in town has. With the all new PPG Color Work Station, picking out a paint color has never been easier. Even though there are over 1,300 colors, it is organized so well that it makes it very easy to find the color you want.
Richard's Paints: Richard's paints has a reputation of great, high quality paints. Each product is made to perfection and includes only the highest quality pigments, raw materials, and resins available. Because of this, each coat will have maximum beauty, strength and protection.
Stains & Varnishes
If you're having trouble finding a pre-mixed stain to match your flooring or cabinets, The Paint Depot specializes in custom stain matches so that you can achieve the perfect match for your woodwork. The store asks that you provide a sample of the item you want matched and a sample of the wood you are staining. This is so the store can make sure that the match is perfect. The store also carries pre-mixed ZAR stains as well.
ZAR Wood Stain: There are 2 different types of ZAR Wood Stains. Semi-transparent, and solid color. Both of which are the most high quality wood stains available on the market.
TWP Stain: TWP stands for Total Wood Preservative. It is an exterior wood preservative. Not only does it stain the wood for color but it also seals the wood for protection. It can be used on natural wood fences, all decking wood (cedar, redwood, ACQ, mahogany, pine, etc.), timber framed homes, etc.
Services
The Paint Depot has countless services. If you need any paint matched with another paint you bought in the past from a different store, The Paint Depot can match that paint at the store and make the paint for you on the spot. They can tint it to how you want it and then spin it to make sure the colorant is mixed in with the paint well. Not only can the store match any paint that you bring in, they can also match any color or tint of wood stain. One of the employees, Audi, is great at matching wood stains. With over 50 years of individual experience matching wood stains, Audi is your guy.
Other Products
Along with the paint and stains the store also carries the normal products used to apply these things. This includes paint brushes, rollers, sprayers, etc. The prices there are very fair and finding them at any other place will be nearly impossible. With every purchase, the store will also give the customer as many stir sticks as they need. Although most people will not need a stir stick, other people may not use the paint right away. At the store the staff will mix the paint for you before they let you walk out of the door with it. Over time the paint can settle and it will need to be shaken again. This is why the customer can receive stir sticks. The store also sells cheap paint samples that come at a cost of $5.00. If you’re ever having trouble picking out just one paint color, pick out as many as you want in samples. This way if you have multiple colors you are debating on, you can paint portions of the wall each sample color to see how it looks at your home. Once you find the color you want to go with, you can come back to the store, give the staff your color name and they can make the color for you at the store in a matter of minutes.
Staff
The staff at The Paint Depot are some of the nicest people around. The owner, Greg Waters, Graduated from ISU in 1979 with a degree in Psychology. Ever since he graduated college he has been working in the paint industry. After working at a local Glidden store for a few years he decided to start up his own independent company, The Paint Depot. The manager, Devon Brown is currently attending ISU and has been working at the store for close to 7 years. If you need a paint color matched at the store, he is who you need to talk to. Audi is a stain matcher at the store and he can help match the stain on any type of wood sample. He is also very good at picking out the perfect stain for the type of wood you bring in. Zach Williamson is another worker at the store that helps out with the paint tinting and unloading of trucks. There is a dog there that is in the store on a daily basis that goes by the name of Milo. Milo is Devon’s dog and is a poodle mixed with a golden retriever.
