The VFW or Veteran of Foriegn Wars is a bar in Bloomington. VFW post 454 in bloomington is an organization designed specifically for helping local war veterans both past and present. Also the VFW is active in the community. The post is named "Joh H Kraus" post after the man who donted his life savings after he passed away to get the post up and running.
Bar: It has $2 bottles and $1.50 drafts. And the cheapest liquor in town. Daily drink specials. They also have live bands every saturday night. The music is usually country and classic rock. The usual patrons are the older crowd. It is a very calm casual bar, the music is generally never very loud but the bartender will adjust the volume as requested.
Kitchen: The Kitchen is open usually twice a week. Dinner friday nights and lunch on saturdays. They Serve great fried chicken and fish for only $3 or $4.
You do NOT have to be a member to enter the building, like is normaly believed.
