Xanten was a former Roman settlement on the Rhine, and now it is set up as a museum and archaelogical park. There are tall columns, houses, an amphitheater and baths. It is a great Roman site for children as there are many hands-on exhibits and reconstructions so that children can experience life as a Roman. They also offer many tour on various themes.
