Chico Mini Con is a convention originated so that the Comic Book Coterie (CBC) of Chico State could throw a big event celebrating their first year of existence. To be able to do so, CBC requested the aid of Chico State's Japanese Animation Club (JAC) and thus formed Mini Con. This event is open to the public and has free admission. It is funded by the Multicultural Affairs Council of Associated Students.
Chico Mini Con 2008 is going to be April 25th from 5:00pm to 10:00pm. It will take place in Plumas Hall at California State University, Chico.
Events include a presubmitted art contest, a martial arts demonstration hosted by Mu Alpha Xi (Chico State's martial arts fraternity), Cosplay and photo shoot, art gallery and swap meet room (sign up for a space prior to the event, allow 1 day for confirmation), a game show, AMV (Anime Music Video) showing, karaoke, tabletop and video gaming room.
