What do you know about Delancy's?

This was a restaurant with white table cloths and proper waiters in the Brick Building on the corner of Broadway and 3rd in the Seventies.  It was somewhat expensive for the college crowd at the time, but they had a soup and salad deal at the beginning of the serving night, and college kids would have early dates to feel fancy without the unaffordable bill.  I returned to Chico in 2015 and it is no longer there.  The waiters knew the score and treated us like we were big tippers.  Soup, salad and crusty bread for something like $5.

It was previously Mike and Eddy's. Delancey's had a fire and never reopened

Actually, Delancy's was located where is now the restaurant of the Diamond Hotel on W. 4th St.  The owner, Henry Spiteri, opened the restaurant in the late 70's and operated as a first class restaurant.  Delancy's replaced Mike and Eddy's.
