The Fire Training Center hosts both the Chico Fire Department and the Chico Police Department for their in-service training, as well as a location for multi-agency drills. The facility includes a large classroom capable of seating 110 persons, a conference room, offices, a five-story drill tower, and a pump-testing pit. The center is also designed to function as Chico's Emergency Operations Center with full emergency power, computer networks, satellite access, city radio systems, and a full kitchen. The Fire Training Center is also utilized by Butte Community College as an off-site instructional facility, and is state-certified for Rescue Systems I training.
