Mercer Grove is a small area of trees and grass at the corner of East 10th Avenue and East Lindo Avenue. It's named after Gene Mercer, a local game warden who served the City of Chico from the early 1900s until the 1970s. Gene Mercer was fetured in the locally authored book ‘Sabertooth: The Rip-Roaring Adventures of a Legendary Game Warden’ written by Terry Hodges.
