Stirling Junction is an unincorporated community in Chico, Butte County, California. Years ago, it was where the Sacramento Northern Railway, an interurban railway which ran from Chico to San Francisco, crossed the Southern Pacific Railroad.

In 1912, it was the junction of the Butte County Railroad and the Northern Electric Railway, less than a mile from Barber and the Diamond Match factory. It was named to honor Alan Stirling, the inventor of the Stirling Boiler and business partner of O. C. Barber, president of the Diamond Match Company. Stirling boilers were used both at Barber and at the mill in Stirling City.

Stirling Junction is currently located at the intersection of Hegan Lane and Midway since both railways have been removed.
