The Annie Bidwell Trail (South Rim Trail) trailhead The ~4 mile long one-way Annie Bidwell Trail or South Rim Trail is within the southern portion of Upper Bidwell Park, on the south side of Big Chico Creek. Trail access can be found at the intersection of Centennial Avenue and Falcon Pointe Drive. It hugs the southern bank of Big Chico Creek and impressive, steep walls of the Tuscan Formation (also see Geology). The trail is open to pedestrians and bicyclists, though it may close to bicyclists after wet weather in order to protect trails from destructive rutting and other trail issues. Dogs must be on leash as this trail is on the south side of Upper Park Road.

The Annie Bidwell Trail connects to the Guardians Trail and the 10 Mile House Road Trail. In addition, a spur of the trail provides access to the Bidwell Municipal Golf Course and to the northern portion of Upper Park via a bridge that crosses Big Chico Creek.

This trail is popular but likely not quite as busy as the northern area of the park due to lack of parking space, trail length, and trail ruggedness.
