The Champaign County Historical Museum is a private, non-profit organization with a mission to "discover, collect, preserve, exhibit, study, and interpret artifacts significant to the heritage of Champaign County, Illinois1." The museum provides educational programs about the history of Champaign County and current museum collections.

Current renovations are being done through a partnership with University Laboratory High School and St. Thomas More students who have been working to add exhibits and restore the museum. These students started working in 2009 and since have completed four rooms and redesigned the museum website.
