The tango community in Champaign Urbana is a group of hundreds of tango lovers, who can meet every week, or even more often for the joy to dance tango and socialize with other tango dancers.

Argentine tango is a social dance and a musical genre which appeared at the end of the XIX° century in Argentina.

Milonga is the name for the tango dance party all over the world, and Champaign Urbana is not an exception to the rule.

In Champaign Urbana there is lot of opportunities to dance tango!

  • Cowboy Monkey: is a restaurant/bar in downtown Champaign which every Wednesday plays tango music.
    • 7 :30 pm - free tango dance lesson
    • 8:00 to 10:0 pm - tango dancing
  • Practica every Sunday at 6:30 pm at Illini Union
  • Milongas on Saturdays
