The Kenneth L. Maddy Equine Analytical Chemistry Laboratory, known as the Maddy Lab, is part of the California Animal Health and Food Safety Lab. It was opened in 1999 and became accredited by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation in 2005. Its focus is primarily on equestrian lab work and this is reflected by the Distance Poles around the outside of the building. The lab serves as the primary equine drug testing lab for California's race courses.
