Red Lotus is a family-owned and operated casual dining Chinese restaurant located at 239, S Elliot Rd, Chapel Hill NC, 27514. Offering a wide range of both authentic and Americanized Chinese dishes, Red Lotus is open for Dine-In, takeout, and partners with three different delivery services. HISTORY
In the summer of 2006, Kevin Zhu opened the door of Red Lotus - then called Red Lotus Asian Kitchen and Bar. Zhu moved to the US from Shanghai, China in 1993 and has worked in kitchens and been around food for most of his life. Both in America and in Shanghai. Before Red Lotus was Red Lotus, it was a restaurant called Mr. Charlie's. At just 25 years of age, Zhu purchased the restaurant and began running it with his parents who - to this day - still work there a few nights a week.
MENU
The Red Lotus menu can separated into three categories: Appetizers, Americanized Chinese food and the Shanghai menu, which features authentic Chinese meals that Zhu grew up eating in China. Although the Lunch menu is less expansive than the dinner menu, it is less expensive and each entree comes with your choice of soup or egg roll.
