Rev. Horace Sheffield III is the pastor of New Destiny Christian Fellowship Church and an announced candidate in 2014 for the 13th congressional district seat held by John Conyers (D-Detroit).

Sheffield is the father of Detroit City Councilwoman Mary Sheffield. His father, Horace Sheffield Jr., was a Detroit labor and civil rights activist who worked with the United Auto Workers to organize Ford autoworkers in 1941.
