Tyrone U. Miller is the director of the Detroit Board of Zoning Appeals.

He is a graduate of Mumford High School and Eastern Michigan University.

Miller worked with the Harmony Village Non-Profit Housing Corporation as their Housing Rehabilitation Specialist and then for the Woodbridge Citizens District Council as the Executive Director.

He was appointed as a City Planner with the City of Detroit City Planning Commission in 1980. In 1991, he was appointed by the Detroit City Council to a six-year term as Director of the Board of Zoning Appeals Department, and he was reappointed in 1997.
