Originally launched in June of 1996 under the title Laguna West Online, Elk Grove Online is the largest independently operated community website for Elk Grove, CA. After moving to the Elk Grove area in 1995, Jeff, the website founder, and his wife began gathering useful information about the local area and posting it online.

The active online discussion forums are the heart of the site and span a wide range of topics from politics to poker, community events to sports. Members of the community are encouraged to register for the site to join in the discussion and share their experiences living in the Elk Grove area.

Other useful features to the site include a community events calendar and quick links to official local government websites and resources.

Currently the site has over 14,000 registered members and is sponsored by several local businesses.
