Scuppernong Books - Greensboro, NC

OVERVIEW:

Scuppernong Books is a bookstore located on 304 S. Elm St, Greensboro, NC. It originally opened on Dec. 21, 2013 and played a role as one of the key factors in Greensboro's downtown rebirth. The bookstore hosts a variety of events--100 a year--consisting of public readings from famous authors, aspiring writers, and serves as a good place to tap into the literary business by being taught the basics of publishing to how the industry functions as a whole. They also offer homemade food and beer.

Scuppernong Books is open from Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays from 12 p.m. through 6 p.m.

There are many books spanning every genre from sci-fi & fantasy to nonfiction. Visitors can pick up books and read them inside. Books can also be purchased online through their shop http://www.scuppernongbooks.com/shop.

Public readings or book launches usually take place in the rearmost portion of the building where there are tables and sofas for sitting. If the bookstore hosts an open mic event then visitors can participate in storytelling whether in verbal form or reading from a manuscript, usually behind a podium and will have a microphone to speak through.
