Albert Dukett worked as a janitor for Paul Smith's Electric and its successor Niagara Mohawk for more than 30 years.  He lived at 26 James Street.

Albert E. Dukett, 88, of Saranac Lake and formerly of Plattsburgh, died Thursday, April 1, 1999 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

Born in Ellenburg on Jan. 10, 1911, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dukett.

On June 29, 1936, he married Alice E. White in Saranac Lake.

Mr. Dukett was a resident of Saranac Lake for many years and was employed by Paul Smith's Electric and later by Niagara Mohawk for more than 30 years until his retirement in 1973. Following retirement, he moved to Plattsburgh where he was a resident for more than 15 years. Mr. Dukett was a member of the Antique Car Association and a member of the Plattsburgh Senior Citizens Center.

Survivors include three sons, Albert and Dorothy Dukett of Plattsburgh, Edward J. Dukett of Saranac Lake, and John and Cherie Dukett of Clintonville; two daughters, Alice and Charlie Baker of Tupper Lake and Mary Besaw of Beekmantown; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and a long-time friend, Irene DuBey of West Plattsburgh.

He was predeceased by his wife on Sept. 5, 1973.

Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A Bible vigil service will take place at 8 p.m. Monday and a Mass of Christian burial will take place at 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Bernard's Church in Saranac Lake with the Rev. Joseph Trombley officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Ridge Cemetery in Saranac Lake.
