OTIS RITES HELD AT PAUL SMITHS
SARANAC LAKE—Arthur L. Otis, 63, one of the last of the old school of guides, who made hunting history in the Adirondacks, was buried Friday afternoon from his home in Paul Smiths.
Mr. Otis died suddenly in Webster Wednesday when vacationing with relatives there. He was a lifelong resident of the Paul Smith section, and conducted a number of prominent hunting parties during his many years as a guide.
Survivors are his widow; two sons, Martin of Saranac Lake and Joshua of Coreys; a daughter, Mrs. George Hourhain, and a brother, Harry, both of Paul Smiths.
Services were conducted by Rev. Frank Bevan, rector of the Methodist Episcopal church of this village, and burial was in St. John's cemetery. A. Fortune company was in charge of arrangements.
