Arthur Menard was a World War II veteran.  He was a son of Joseph A. and Eleanor G. Menard.

SARANAC. LAKE - Arthur E. Menard, 57, of 67 Lake St. died Sunday afternoon at General Hospital.

Mr. Menard was born in Burlington, the son of Joseph A. and Eleanor G. Menard.

Survivors include his wife, the former Consuelo (Connie) Cole; three sons, Joseph A. of Garden Grove, Calif., Andrew E. of Plattsburgh, and Paul J. of Saranac Lake; a daughter, Theresa M. Menard of Saranac Lake; three grandchildren, Christopher, Michelle and Jason Menard; and an aunt, Florence Glogan of Saranac Lake.

Mr. Menard was a resident of Saranac Lake for 54 years, and was graduated from Saranac Lake High School.

He was on the boy Scout Troop 6 committee and served as assistant scoutmaster and scoutmaster. He was an advisor for Explorer Post 6  and committee chairman for the Bedford District Camp of the Boy Scouts.

Mr. Menard was a telephone and radio repairman for New York Telephone for 33 years, and he was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Fortune Funeral Home, and a Bible vigil is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, at St. Bernard's Church, with the Rev. C. J. McAvoy, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery in May.
