Tuesday Eve. (most likely August 5, 1930)

Dear Ceil:

Received your letter and note that you ask about a place to go. The place that I wanted you to go to is the Riverside Inn. I do not know if it is still open or not. But when you get off at Saranac Lake you can ask a cab driver. They charge .50 to take you there. You could walk it, but you might get lost. If the riverside is closed tell the cab driver you want to go to the Hotel Alpine. Both of these places receive early visitors from that train. When you get there, do not hire a room, but ask for the dining room. Then go in and order breakfast. Then ask the waitress where the ladies room is and wash. Have breakfast then hang around the hotel for awhile. We have eats at about 8:30 am. So you come over about 9:30. The reason why I don’t want you to hire a room in the hotel is because they are rather expensive. I will have Mrs. McCabe get you a room where I am pretty reasonable.

I got a letter from Ella and she says that my mother is coming up soon. When, I don’t know. If you wanted to know definitely, I guess you would have to ask them because I don’t know.

Well, I want this to go off tonight, so I will close this.

I have not received the magazines as yet. Candy I can eat some but you can get that up here.

If you get lost you can always phone me at McCabes. Wear your best clothes as they are rather stylish up here. Also take with you a change of clothes & dress warm.

As ever - Jack
